Our Team

WE DID NOT WAKE UP LIKE THIS...

When Sue and I co-founded EvoFit, we were two women with the same challenge: fitting high-quality training into our packed schedules. We didn't have time to juggle memberships at multiple studios and we wanted big results from our workouts.  Passionate about client results, I'm certified by AFAA, NESTA, BootyBarre, FIT4MOM, Seattle Kettlebell Club, and TRX. As a professional, I've moved from group and private instruction in customized women's fitness facilities to my own private training studio before co-founding EvoFit. I like my classes fast, loud, and challenging – building inside and out strength. As a coach and a mom I know this: Each of us needs a little (sometimes a big) push to realize our true potential. We are so much stronger than we give ourselves credit for. When you unlock that truth the possibilities are endless in or out of the gym.

Kylie Kirkland

FOUNDER

Co-founding EvoFit with Kylie over four years ago, I took a giant leap of faith leaving the safety of a corporate career to pursue a dream: a business that gathers and empowers women to be the best version of themselves. Training started early, with a short hiatus in my early 20's (read: partying), and on a whim signed up for a marathon.  A few short months later, I hobbled across the finish line - broken, battered... exhilarated!  Addicted, I became a mentor, trainer, and triathlon competitor where I met my husband, a career firefighter.  Today I am a mother, business owner, and a coach. Certified by NASM, NESTA, BootyBarre, Seattle Kettlebell Club, and FIT4MOM, I am dedicated to helping women find their strong.  The struggles we face in the gym can often translate into every day life challenges and at EvoFit, we ask that you bring your best, whatever it may be that day.  With every rep and each workout, you will be challenged to dig deep, push through, and learn all about the powerful woman inside you.

Helen's love affair with movement started just about as soon as she could walk, but her fate was sealed when she took her first dance class at age 6. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of Michigan she immediately started teaching as much as she could. In 2012 she decided to combine her knowledge of dance with her growing passion as a "professional anatomy nerd" to create her own barre method which she taught as Power Barre classes at the Ann Arbor YMCA. Once in Seattle, she became a founding instructor at Bohemian Studios in 2015 where she helped develop the Barre Bohemian method and was a lecturer/mentor for Barre Bohemian teacher trainings. Helen's classes are precise, challenging, and always based in her rigorous study of human anatomy and extensive movement training. She is a nerd at heart so you can expect not just to sweat but also to learn something while you're getting stronger. Her passion lies in helping everyone in her classes learn to love movement and find empowerment within their own physical beings. In addition to her barre certification, Helen has studied the Gyrotonic Expansion System and Myofascial-Release Techniques. She lives in north Seattle with her husband and two house rabbits; she'll probably show you pictures.

Natty started her yoga journey after realizing she needed to incorporate more mobility into her strength training regimen.  She found a great passion in the Vinyasa Power Flow.  She received her 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training from Mark Stephens in Santa Cruz, CA in the winter of 2015 and has been teaching twice a week at a local CrossFit for over a year.  Most recently, Natty has been honing her yoga craft by taking workshops, including inversions, ultimate meal prepping and trying to keep up with her 11 year old black lab mix, Piccolo, as he explores the PNW hiking trails.

Brittney Mark grew up an athlete and has always had a passion for working out. Upon graduating from WSU (GO COUGS), she began her professional career in broadcast radio, a career that spanned nearly 10 years. After becoming a first time mom to her son Griffin (2), she traded in a microphone and headphones for diapers and playdates. It was during this time that she made exercising a full time priority to set a good example for him. Barre is a great full body workout that’s the perfect fusion of all things she loves, music, strength, yoga, and pilates. She’s been empowered by many fitness instructors as a client, and hopes as an instructor she can inspire other women in the community. Brittney completed her instructor certification through Barre Bohemian Studios in West Seattle. Her goal each class is to bring a rockin’ playlist and fresh barre sequences that challenge clients to feel the burn, embrace the shake, and keep coming back for more.
